Choosing Eco-Friendly Panel For Your Green Home

With the increasing quality of life, the concept of green, healthy and eco-friendly life has become more and more popular. In the process of choosing furniture, people pay more attention to the eco-friendly panel. But there are different kinds of panels on the market, from solid wood, particle board, MDF to plywood and more.


However, the production capacity of the factory is different, and the quality of the panel is also uneven. Many inferior panels are mixed in it, difficult to distinguish. The following is a brief introduction to how to choose eco-friendly panel.


Test Standard

For consumers, formaldehyde is the most concerned issue when choosing panel. At present, the international standards for formaldehyde evaluation include E grade, F grade, NAF grade, ENF grade, etc. The following briefly introduces:

· Mainstream Environmental Protection Grade Standards

E-grade: China's E-level is divided into three levels, namely E0, E1, and E2.

  a. E0 grade formaldehyde emission is ≤0.5mg/L;

  b. E1 grade formaldehyde emission is ≤1.5mg/L;

  c. E2 grade formaldehyde emission ≤5mg/L.

The European E-level can be divided into two levels, namely E1 and E2.

  a. E1 grade formaldehyde emission ≤0.5mg/L;

  b. E2 grade formaldehyde emission ≤1.5mg/L.

F-star: Japan's highest certification standard, divided into four levels.

  a. F★Formaldehyde emission ≤5mg/L;

  b. F★★Formaldehyde emission ≤1.5mg/L;

  c. F★★★Formaldehyde emission ≤0.5mg/L;

  d. F★★★★Formaldehyde emission ≤0.3mg/L.

NAF grade: It is divided into US EPA & CARB certification, which is the US formaldehyde-free exemption certification, which means that there is no need for formaldehyde testing for export to the US market. At present, only a dozen factories in the world can pass this stringent test.

ENF level: It stipulates that the formaldehyde emission should be ≤0.025mg/m³, which is also the most stringent standard for the formaldehyde emission of artificial panel products.

And REBON reed panel, the formaldehyde emission is less than 0.01mg/m³, not only passed the NAF certification of the US EPA & CARB, but even far exceeds the ENF level.


Pay Attention to Glue

The "aldehyde-free" we are pursuing means "aldehyde-free addition", because formaldehyde is naturally present, even the common vegetables and fruits in our life (such as cabbage, apples) also contain formaldehyde, if it is safe content within the range. "Formaldehyde-free addition" mainly refers to artificial panel with no formaldehyde-containing adhesives added in the production process of the panel, and the formaldehyde emission ≤0.03mg/m³.

REBON reed panel is different from the panels on the market, using MDI ecological glue. MDI ecological glue is currently the most environmentally friendly panel adhesive and is widely used in aerospace, medical, textile, transportation, automobile and other fields, such as artificial joint materials, artificial blood vessels, water purifiers, refrigerator liner and car dashboards etc., will not cause harm to human health.


Check the Process

Each type of production process is different, not only in price, but also in quality and environmental protection. The surface of many panels is uneven, easy to warp, and has no gloss.

Reed board is a man-made panel made of reed as the main raw material, after dozens of processes such as crushing, drying, grinding and screening, applying formaldehyde-free MDI glue, and high temperature and high pressure. It is not easy to deform and has excellent stability.

In addition, there is a biological wax layer on the surface of the reed, which is not afraid of water. And MDI glue is a waterproof glue. The combination of the two makes the reed panel difficult to expand when it is wet. The expansion rate of water absorption in 2 hours is only 1%, which is much better than that of ordinary panels. 

Moreover, the density of the reed panel is higher than that of the ordinary particle board, which can effectively block the sound transmission and achieve the effect of sound absorption and noise isolation.


Smell

Toluene and xylene in the panel often have a pungent odor, which can anesthetize the central nervous system and stimulate the skin and mucous membranes, which is a huge harm to human health.

REBON reed panel has a faint reed fragrance.

According to the test report of REBON reed panel, the total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) is less than 0.02mg/m³, and the release amount of benzene, toluene and xylene is less than 0.002mg/m³.
